When Jake, a middle aged novelist more successful with fiction than his own life, is suddenly faced with a marital crisis, he seeks an answer to his problems in a series of imaginary conservations with the most important women in his life. These wildly comic and often moving "daydreams" force Jake to acknowledge several key truths about himself as he attempts to save his marriage.

Wise, rueful, ironic and gently self-deprecating, Jake's Women remains one of Simon's most mature and enjoyable works.
